By far the best wax I've used Oct 23, 2008
By Daniel Buki This product has the moxie others lack. My normally disobedient hair whimpers in desperation at the sight of the pretty red jar, as its proximity signifies that forced submission soon comes.
Guys, here are some suggestions to get the most out of the product:
SOFTEN THE WAX for easier application by melting it with your blow dryer. Blow it directly into the jar on high/hot until the product begins to shine, and then for a few seconds more 'til you can scoop it up with your fingertips.
SCULPT BANGS by pinching, clumping and shaping, being sure to coat the entire style surface.
MATTE THE STYLE by blending equal amounts wax and Sumo Tech on your fingertips before applying. This works especially well for nerd chic (distribute evenly from the roots, finger-comb, comb-comb and part) and bed-head/mod styles (with lightly-coated fingers and palms, squeeze clumps into clenched fists). As always with Sumo Tec, look carefully for undissolved white particulate before considering it did.
FREEZE THE STYLE into place using your blow dryer's cold shot for several seconds.
...for FULL STYLE, use diffuser at high speed.
...for BANGS ONLY, use concentrator at low speed from about 12 inches.
For FUNKY STYLES, try using in conjunction with Bed Head Wax Stick.
To impart STAYING POWER or to BREEZE-PROOF your craftsmanship, finish off with a moderate, even mist of B&B Extra-Strength Holding Spray. It works well over the wax, leaves no nasty residue and holds like concrete. Plus, it doesn't make your hair fall out.

Perfect for scent-sensitive types! Dec 02, 2007
By S. Nichols I'm not even buying this product here, but I have to express my love for this stuff. I've been rockin' a short pixie cut with straight hair for about 10 years, and I've tried a lot of expensive products. Sumo Wax reigns supreme! It isn't heavy, yet doesn't require a second application to maintain its hold. But it truly trumps other products because it doesn't give me a headache! I even tried using Aveda's Self Control products, but the scent of Sumo Wax is so much more subtle and pleasant to have sitting in your hair all day. One pot will last at least 4 months, probably 6 months. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot. You might end up like me...writing reviews just so you can spread the word! Enjoy.

Great Nov 27, 2007

The wax does exactly what it says it will. It holds style. It definitely makes the hair feel a bit greasy, but not overly so, and it doesn't show up shiny, so you don't look greasy. I think that a bit of greasiness comes with the territory of wax! I have curly hair, so I just use it on the top near my scalp, but if you had a straight, short cut, I think this product would work beautifully to hold the hair in a style, as it holds my style even when weighed down with the heaviness of long hair. Would recommend this product.

Great! Just what I needed to give my limp hair oomph! May 27, 2007

This was recommended by my stylist at a Bumble and Bumble salon, and it is just the perfect thing for my limp, fine, hair. Takes just the tiniest smidgen to style, and doesn't leave hair stiff or icky.

Solid product, I'm a believer. Feb 12, 2009

I purchased this Sumo Wax after doing a search for hair wax products and reading all the reviews for the different results that turned up. It was a little expensive, but definitely worth it.
I have incredibly thick hair that can be styled and set as long as the product has strength and this wax definitely has the strength. Back in high school, I used to use the industrial strength gels to style my hair. I used to have Dragon Ball Z style spikes that were at least six inches long all around my whole head. (and bleached super saiyan yellow/white of course) :) I don't style my hair that way now but I wish I knew about this product back then because I hated dealing with the side effects of gel products. You know, scalp stretch, flaking, stiffness...
The Sumo Wax holds my hair in place without flaking or stretching my scalp... has an organic flexibility while maintaining strength, smells nice without being too strong or noticeable and doesn't feel "waxy" like other hair waxes out there.
I was pleasantly surprised when washing the Sumo Wax off of my hands after application and when showering, it rinses right off unlike other wax products that cling to the skin and hair. It is a trip!
Namaste,
Dey
