I have used Gaviscon for years. It works great anytime, but mainly to take before bed, to help with acid reflux. It forms a foam cap at the top of your stomach, which helps to keep the acid from washing back up into your throat. Could not live without it!! Great seller too. Shipped it fast!!

This stuff simply works for my GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). I normally get reflux at night; when I do, I just take one of these and within 15-30 minutes I feel better. The other stuff I have tried (antacids, Pepto Bismol, vinegar) don't work nearly as well.

This is a great product and MUCH better than taking TUMMS. It takes a bit to get used to the new taste (much different than Tumms), but it is better for you apparently. I'm not a doctor. This is a 5 star product and the price here is much better than CVS.

You chew the tablets until you get a foam and then swallow...no, it isn't the best taste, but I think the org is better than the cherry, though it isn't candy, you don't take this stuff for the taste. I have bile reflux, which triggers my asthma and is VERY bad for GI system (very caustic). Bile reflux doesn't respond to anti-acids very well. Bile reflux also causes a lot of nausea in my case. This stuff literally changed my life. I take 4 pills and I can breathe easily for a few hours. This creates a foam and keeps the bile from refluxing in to my esophagus. If you find yourself taking lots of acid reducers and still not feeling better this stuff will likely help. I use before bed every night, it helps me feel better so I can fall asleep. I have a hyper dynamic gall bladder, rare and causes too much bile production. I could have it removed but I am trying to see if I can manage the symptoms well enough to live with it...still not sure, but this stuff made a huge difference in my life. My two biggest symptoms are nausea and short of breath (because it triggers my asthma)...four of these pills and I can go from praying for death to feeling pretty decent. According to my GI this stuff is pretty inert so I can take as much as I want...or as much as I can afford. This stuff is spendy and doesn't taste like candy but if you're worried about the taste then you don't feel bad enough to need this stuff.
If you feel bad enough that it interfers with your life this stuff can change your life.

I take a PPI daily for my GERD and gastritis but it doesn't cure my symptoms completely. I recently bought this on a whim and take 2 tablets after a meal, 1 tablet before bed, and it works incredibly well, and for a few hours.
Gaviscon is far better than Tums (or any other calcium antacid) as calcium has been shown to actually cause the stomach to secrete more acid, so by the time the hour is up and the tums has passed through your stomach, your symptoms are likely to rebound and then some. Studies in medical journals have concluded they may actually cause more harm than good because of the increase in acid production. Aluminim and magnesium antacids are what you want for GERD.
This also lasts longer and is more effective as it creates a physical foam barrier atop your stomach liquid, neutralizing acid and preventing the acid from travelimg back up to your esophagus and lungs.
The taste is chalky vanilla, kind of sweet with a sour kick. It's not bad at all; I think you'd have to have quite sensitive taste buds for this to taste "gross" as some have indicated. And honestly, if the fact that it doesn't taste like gummy bears detours you, your indigestion probably isn't bad enough to need this anyway.
