Thank You Amazon...... Jan 31, 2009
By Debbie Harris Thank You Amazon for having my Gaviscon tablets, regular strength...for some reason, and i wish i knew what that reason was, the stores in my area do Not carry the Gaviscon regular strength tablets anymore....only the Extra Strength which do NOT contain the same ingredients, and do NOT work on my reflux problem.....This version of Gaviscon has the aluminum hydroxide and the magnesium trisilicate which is the only thing that really works to make a barrier stopping the acid from coming up to the esophagus from the stomach....a wonderful product that has saved me alot of pain and discomfort with acid reflux.....

Amazon: Please Always Carry This Aug 21, 2009
By Neil L. Shapiro I don't know why but it is almost impossible to find in stores anything but the "extra-strength." But the extra-strength is an entirely different formulation and, for me, does not work at all while this regular strength is a lifesaver.

reflux is bad Jun 22, 2009
By Perry T. Willson Gavicon is the only antiacid that works when you lie down. I like the regular better than the extra strength. less antiacid and more inert protection that floats on the top of the stomach. I've used it for over twenty years and dispite serious reflux I have no damage.

The best thing I've found for reflux May 07, 2011
By M. Schiff I don't know why it's so difficult to find this in local stores, but it's the best thing I've found to treat acid reflux. It works instantly, and creates a barrier at the entrance to your esophagus. Recommended.
This stuff is helpful, but it may not be healthy to ingest Alumnium Mar 29, 2012
By Celery Gaviscon was the first thing I used that helped control my reflux after PPI's had failed to help me. However, i became worried when i read about how bad it is to ingest Aluminum. The Gaviscon in Canada and the UK is made without Aluminum. If you need to take this drug, try to find a non-US source of it.
After I started using Iberogast, i weaned myself off of Gaviscon successfully.
