Nice look and good for your skin Sep 10, 2011

I am in my late 40's and decided that mineral powder foundations were tending to accentuate my older skin. I wanted a light makeup/moisturizer/sunscreen without a bunch of chemicals that over time will harm my skin. I definitely like this product. It is a light foundation with spf and natural ingredients that are great for your skin. I make sure to apply it while my skin is moist (either right after cleansing or right after applying moisturizer) so that it spreads smoothly. It looks nice ALL day -- and the color is very natural looking which is important to me. My only complaint would be that it smells very flowery. I know that it doesn't have any artificial fragrances added -- so I suspect that one of the good-for-your-skin ingredients (elder flower, probably) is what gives it this smell. The smell dissipates as soon as it dries -- so it is not a deal breaker, by any means. Also nice that it has SPF -- which is essential to me living in Florida.

I was hesitant to purchase this product online before knowing what shade I needed so I decided to purchase it from a local retailer first. The only retailer in my area that was listed as carrying the product was Nordstroms but after searching for the product I found that Nordstroms only carries it in select stores and the one in my area wasn't one of them. After going to Sephora and Ulta stores for it with no luck I found out that it is primarily carried in medi-spa's because it is designed to be used on skin post-procedures. To save anyone else the trouble of searching for it I will let you know that the shades run a little light. I have fair skin and would have purchased the light medium , but I actually needed the medium. The product does have a nice sheer color and does make your skin look slightly firmer but I think the area that it is lacking in is the moisturizing. When you put it on it has a rather dry, powdery feel and is probably fine for someone with somewhat oily skin.

Jane Iredale products are great. This product smooths my skin without irritating it. Gives your sensitive skin a nice glow and canvas for applying your foundation. Try this product, you'll love it.

I use Jane Iredale Pressed Powder Foundation plus I have used her liquid face foundations. I bought this Tinted Moisturizer mostly to use on my legs. It looks very natural (not a fake tan look) & gives just enough color to enhance the look of my legs as they are very pale & pinkish/redish. This will do the trick until I eventually get some tan. I would prefer unscented so I could use it as a face makeup base while camping in bear country, but the scent is fine for other places. I avoid using certain ingredients on my sensitive skin. Jane Iredale products have excellent ingredients.
