FAKE PRODUCT; DO NOT PURCHASE FROM AMAZON. Oct 15, 2010

I bought a couple sample sizes of Macadamia Oil from Ulta and absolutely fell in love with it! It had a sweet smell and smoothed my dry hair without much product. I purchased a regular size bottle from Ulta for full price, but decided to see if there could possibly be some Macadamia Oil sold online for a discounted price, in which case I could return the more expensive bottle for a refund.

I purchased a bottle off Amazon for a bit more than half the cost of retail prices. When the bottle arrived, I did a comparison between the legitimate bottle I had purchased and the one that was shipped to me. They were very similar, but if you looked closely you can see font discrepancies and the packaging on the bottle I purchased off Amazon had a sticker that did not look like it was placed on the bottle as professionally as the one from Ulta. However, I dismissed these things for further comparison.

Once I placed a pump of product in my hand from the Macadamia Oil ordered off Amazon, I knew I had just ordered a bad generic replica. The oil did not have a sweet macadamia smell. Instead, it had a sour alcohol-like scent. The color was clearly a brighter shade of red and the consistency was thin.

To summarize all of this simply: The real Macadamia Oil is AMAZING for your hair. But make sure you buy it from a reputable source such as Ulta or the Macadamia website. The oil sold on here is FAKE and simply does not compare to the real thing. Spending the extra amount of money is well worth it.

I've been using this product for some time now. And I usually purchase from the salon I go to or the actual products website. But I saw this on amazon for a lower price, so I ordereded it. Big mistake when I got the product it was in the same packaging except the oil inside was not the same product. It was a different texture, different color and different smell. Do not buy this product from here. You may save a few dollars but your not getting the product you think you are. Very dissapointed.

I replaced my usual Morrocon Oil with this product. It is cheaper, leaves less buildup on the hair and left my hair feeling soft and silky. The smell is a little overpowering at first, but fades significantly after 20 minutes or so, leaving a clean subtle, fragrance. I have very long hair that I wash every two to three days and I like to use it as a pretreatment the night before I wash it. I use a half dollar size amount, comb it through my hair, sleep and wash it in the morning. My hair is less frizzy and very soft and silky. I also put a very small amount on my hair after I blow it dry to tame little frizzes (less than dime size). A great product and great alternative to morroccon oil.

I received this as a free sample from Jade Beauty and I used it last night... I woke up with silk for hair. I ordered it immediately. Amazing seller btw!

I am African-American with relaxed hair. I used this on my hair after washing, conditioning and relaxing with my usual products, nothing short of Awesome! It left my wet hair silky and the comb just slid through w/ no breakage and little to no shedding. I have started using it to moisturize my hair & ends @ night after applying my hair lotions and I wake up w/ silk!
