Saved My Life ! Sep 16, 2010
By LALTOO I am one of those persons who has an allergy to Nickel. Unknown to me, my GLASSES FRAME contained Nickel, and was causing me endless discomfort (allergic skin reaction where the frames touched my temples and nose bridge). After visiting more dermatologists than I care to remember (who were no help), I came across some internet articles on Nickel Allergies, ordered the product , found out my frames contained nickel, ordered some new FRAMES (that I first tested with the product to verify them nickel-free) and for the first time in years can feel comfortable wearing glasses ! Saved me endless suffering, and money too !

quite pleased Mar 16, 2012
By freja1066 I didn't buy this for the "protect" portion of the set, only the allergy testing solution. I haven't tried the protect solution. I've suffered from nickel allergies as long as I remember. Wearing anything with metal, from eyeglass frames to belt buckles, was always a gamble. I used this to test a buckle on a new pair of shoes before I wore them. I am happy to report that there was no nickel. I couldn't quite believe the results, so I started testing things that I know had nickel in it - like, a nickel. The q-tip turned bright pink, which is what it's supposed to do when nickel is present. The smell of the solution is horrible, and it started to set off my asthma, but I kept it well away from my face and everything seemed ok. Also, it did not ruin the metal on the shoe. I tested it in an inconspicuous spot because I wanted to return the shoes if they had nickel, but the solution didn't leave any marks.

waste of money Aug 12, 2011
By faithT The nickel test didn't work and the nickel guard I feel is nothing more that clear finger nail polish. It even smells like it. I don't believe that it doesn't ruin your stuff, it leaves a mess.
